Hi my 54-40 peeps!! Hope your well and still listening to 54-40 !!! Well, update kinda, I went and saw Grapes of Wrath with Kris and HOLY CRAP! Tom is a great singer!! So happy to have been able to see him sing, and not only background vocals with 54-40!! He is an amazing guy, and his brother Chris is great too, so nice to me!! Thanks again guys for the love, I stuck my hand out for a handshake, and Tom gives me a big hug instead!!! Really great, fab, nice guys!! Kevin is in the band too, nice voice, but he was grumpy or something when I talked to him, o well! Anyhow, just wishin for another 54-40 show in the near future, so much going on with the band right now, not going to talk about the rumours I am hearing, until I get some confirmation!! The 54-40 site is back up now, not sure wth was up with that, but ok, whatevs, as long as we get some new dates up there!! So did I mention I love 54-40??!!! and their road crew too, Kevin and Brian so awesome, Allen Moy - so divine!! So Grapes of Wrath has now become officially my second fave band afer 54-40 (sorry Barney Bentall I still love you) still not sure why I prefer Canadian music over american or other, just weird I guess. Holy cow! The Commodore shows were unbelievable!! It really seems like a dream those two days, a dream of total awesomeness!!!
FRIDAY: On Friday I had to work, but right after I cruised out to Van City and met my internet 54-40 buddy Joe S at the hotel!! I could tell right away he was relieved I wasn't some nutbar, I wasn't worried about him lol I could so take him!! We got right down into some drinking, me vodka, him rye!! We figured hell, we have lots of time, 54-40 doesn't come on til 10:45pm, lets drink, go have dinner then cruise on over to the Commodore. Well thank GOD for Mya, she texted me warning me that the bands first set was at 9:15 pm!!! Well that changed things RIGHT quick so I hurried up and got half ass ready and we motored over there, only 2 blks away!!! We got in, saw Marnee, said Hi, then saw Kris, she saved us a table!! Kris is SOOO nice!!! Also saw Justin, a huge fan front row center!! The opening band was called Flash Lightning, they had some good radio quality songs! I hope they get on the radio, Neil said this is his current fave band! So they played, and I stuck to my plan (mostly) and got up there before they were done their set, to secure the front row position!!! Soon Kris and Joe joined me and then 54-40 came on!!!!!!!! They played the Green album - I so love Me Island and Holy Cow, such WICKED wicked songs, the guys were awesome and the sound was LOUD!!! After Green album they had a " pee break " and came back!! When Baby had some faith started, you could feel the whole floor vibrate, and the bass vibrating right through your body, and it tickled my nose! That's how you know they got some awesome sound equipment!! (and an awesome sound man!!) The second set was a dream, rockin my face off, singing every word, I can't even describe the unrealness, the energy flowing to the crowd, the joy, for me, the BLISS!! I was (and am) so happy at a 54-40 show it's hard to explain. Besides my kids, 54-40 makes me the happiest I have ever been!! So they played all the hits, of course, the crowd was slightly confused with the Green Album, but everything got crystal clear during the 2nd set. An amazing show, my ears were ringing after, we sat down and happened to be next to a gentleman that runs 5440.com!! So we had an extraordinary conversation with him, and he was great! I heart him!! SO after that we cruised Granville which was party central, and about 3am I was done!!! Joe was done before me lol you amature!!!
Saturday: So unfortunatly Joe had to leave back to Fort St.John ( I know animal eh?!?!) so we had breakie and I saw him off in the cab. Joe is totally nice and man, saved my butt bigtime with the hotel and such!! Thanks Joe!! I had a tattoo consult at 4pm for my first tattoo, a 54-40 tat on my wrist, and I happened to run into a old friend Tammy. Lucky for me, she came to the tattoo shop with me and pretty much stopped me from passing right out while getting my 1st tat!! I got " Yes to Everything" from the album cover written (tattoo'd) exactly how it is on the cover!! I LOVE IT!! But it hurt like a @&$%)!* !!! So thank you Chris Hold, an amazing tattoo artist at Sacred Heart in Vancouver - Nelson shop!! He had to bandage my arm up after the work was done so I couldn't show anyone at the show - Oh well. So at around 8:30 I went to the Commodore for night 2 of the awesomeness!! I knew this show was SoLd OuT so I went to secure the front row spot when Flash Lightning came on, as did Leah!!! Leah is awesome, she has this shirt that says I love 54-40 in huge red letters!! Good thing we did move into our spots because the floor got packed right quick and before we knew it, 54-40 was playing the Green Album!!! The sound wasn't as loud I noticed right away, but the band, man they were in a good mood!!! Laughing, joking, smiling and rockin hard!!! After the break, they blew everyone away with all the hits. Baby have some faith, Nice to love you, Crossing a canyon, Radio love song, 100 songs, One gun, One day, She-la, Since when, Casual viewin, Ocean pearl then encore new song Lost in the City, and Love you all. I was blown right away, I rocked as hard as I could, had a little graves disease attack, but just calmed myself down and carried on!!!!! Friday was my party night, so I was totally sober on Saturday. I was so awake and alive after the show, I was taken aback when Brian came out on stage and asked if I wanted to go backstage! I was like YEAHH!! And went back and hung with Kevin, Brian and the crew! Let me just say that these two guys are an amazing part of 54-40's crew!! They are the BEST guys, and Kevs wife is really nice too, she gave me a hug and said that I looked like I had a great time!! ( Well YEAA!! I did!!) So I didnt want to bug the band so I didnt go up to the party room, and I also had to get up at 7am to take my kid to football! So I bailed outta there, after some unreal pics of me were takin backstage!! I crused back along Granville, friggen so many people!! So many fights, just crazy, so I went back to the hotel alone and crashed!!!
So I'd like to thank Joe, Kris, Tammy, Brian, Kevin, the rest of the 54-40 crew and management, Davidacus, the Commodore staff, and 54-40 for making this the BEST concert I have ever seen! (Saturday) but Friday was a close 2nd!! All the people who support me and 5440forever, I love you guys!! ((HUGS)) Thanks for making it happen, because without you, things would have turned out alot different!! ok SOOOOO excited!! I have both my tickets in my hand for the Commodore shows!!! YEE-HAWW!!! Just trying to find a hotel now, so dang expensive!!! Might have to do it on the fly!! So only 11 days left til the Friday show, I havn't seen them since JUNE!!!! I KNOW!! What a joke huh!! I cannot WAIT!! SPAZ SPAZ sorry .... down superfan, BAD superfan... !!!!
ok chillin out a bit, should be an awesome time, I have a plan of action for the shows!! Get there early and get a table, DO NOT DRINK 1 hr before the show, so I can get front row and not pee my pants half way through!! And rock like crazy!!! I'm hoping my stupid medical thing doesn't act up, but I have been feelin pretty good lately so should be all good!!! Just wanted to share my excitement with you guys about it!! So I officially hold my 54-40 Commodore Saturday ticket in my hand!! WOO HOO!! Next payday I will get my Friday show ticket !!! So excited !! Right now I'm listening to a Neil Osborne interview with Slither Productions - here's the link, it's pretty good so far, talking about the record industry and songwriting, etc while Neil is waiting at the airport! Check it out, Neil is such an intelligent guy, I love to listen to him talk! I would love to do a interview with him talking about spirituality, or just lay on the grass and talk about it !! Wow, I suck.. Been a long time since I updated sorry, been a while since I got my butt to a 54-40 show too (crys) So new update - Please welcome Tim5440 as a new webmaster at 5440forever.com!!! * applause* I know, it's ABOUT TIME Tim came over here so stay tuned for some changes (major overhaul) of this site. Hope to get a whole lyric section up so we will need YOUR help to double check all lyrics while listening to the songs. I am half deaf so at times it's not very easy for me to decipher some of the lyrics - Rita (god bless her soul) used to be a big help to me with lyrics. Anyhow, Commodore shows coming up in October, getting my tickets next week!! YAY! Very exciting as it will be a GREEN ALBUM set both days, followed by all the hits!! Hope they play a new song too, that would be awesome!!! Be sure to get front row with us at these two amazing shows!! I totally miss the boys, I listen to 54-40 everyday on my iPod, as I am a truck driver with no life otherwise! Miss my 54-40 friends too, be sure to say Hi to me on facebook!! just wanted to say Hi, I didn't make it to Crabfest and wont be going to Nakusp (CRYS) but here there are a couple new videos up of the amazing Whistler show, so check them out!! I am the one spazing on the left side of stage, pink shirt. At least my hair looked good from the back! But dang, the heat at that show was unbearable, the guys sure look great tho! This show was quite different from all of the 54-40 shows I have attended, it was held at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Arena which is a bad ass huge mini coliseum that holds 7000. It was the Navy Rocks show, held by the military as you could totally tell by the amount of cops and security there! Amazingly enough, 54-40 was not the headliner, Sam Roberts was. Matt Mays started off the show, and he was very good! His keyboardist was especially amazing, rocking like crazy as was his guitarist! Watch for this band in the future!
Oh yea, forgot about this but this show originally was going to be Navy only, but they opened up ticket sales to the public and I snapped up my ticket, a total fluke Front Row seat 6 !!! Amazing luck, thank you universe!!! So just before 54-40 was to go on, I warned the people on both sides of me that I probably wouldnt be able to control myself and would be standing up and dancing, they were all fine with it, at the time. 54-40 came on, the boys were in a great mood!! Laughing, joking, smiling, and I stood up and started to rock and sing and love life, I am in my element!!! Sooo happy, so I rock for a few songs, then look behind me, I am the ONLY ONE standing and rocking! Out of thousands of people! CRAZY!! WTH!! So I'm like whatever then, a woman behind me whined to move over so I did, and continued rocking. Then some Navy guy whined and I told them to STAND UP if you want to see! This is a ROCK show hello!! He bitched to security which came and hasseled me that I had to move back infront of my seat (2 feet away) which infurated the woman who asked me to move! I was like WHATEVER, after paying $59.50 for the ferry 1 way, and $57.00 for the ticket, $10.00 to park, there was NO WAY these people were going to get me to sit down!!
My band is playing and I am rocking hello!! So eventually a few people stood to rock out, and near the end, FINALLY Neil asked everyone to stand up and they did for the choir part of the show and then they stood from then on (was it that hard people!!) I think Navy people are pretty stiff from what I saw, and rude. I am anti-war just so you know. Violence doesn't ever solve anything. So the band was looking at me smiling, I am crazy yes, crazy in LOVE with 54-40!!! Nothing will stop me from enjoying my band sorry! Actually, I take that back, I am NOT sorry, these people must realize that it is a ROCK show not a SIT down show!! So anyways, there was a break, I didn't get to talk to Kev or anyone as they were too busy.
Sam Roberts came on after, I sat down, everyone stood up LOL That pissed off the people around me again, but then they realized that they wouldn't be seeing the show unless they stood up, so they did! I believe that 54-40 blew Sam away, too bad the crowd didn't realize that earlier, I didn't recognize most of Sams songs except the big hits (4 of them), alot of people just sat down after the 2nd song anyways, it was quite boring (sorry Sam) but one thing I gathered from the Sam Roberts band was, I LIKE skinny jeans on guys!!! NICE!!! So anyways, another budget trip for me, although I did swing down to the Bard and Banker to see if the band went there, (Tom and Matt often play there) and WOW Matt, Tom and Dave were there!!! I hung out for 1 drink (all I could afford after downtown parking fees) then headed to the ferry, slept in my car and paid my stupid $59.50 for the ferry and got on the boat for home!! Thank god payday is on Tuesday!!! Anyways, Loved the show, thought the crowd sucked, didn't see Karen (bummer) but all in all, I love 54-40!!! 5440forever people!! Oh ya, the CBC radio interviewed me, hopefully I can find that and post it here for you to hear!!! Ok, LOVE YOU ALL, see a 54-40 show soon ok!!!! ttylzzz

So some awesomeness happened June 5th when I attended the 54-40/Rock101, Studio 101 show in Whistler! I wasn't sure I could go to this show, as the tickets were sold in packages for $285!! I contacted rock101 and asked if possibly there would be a single ticket available, and was told by a very cool guy Aaron in promotions that (after numerous emails) I was in luck and to contact Mike at rock101 in promotions. I will just say this, Mike at rock101 promotions, you are a DICK. I emailed Mike my number, expecting to pay for a single ticket, but 5 minutes before he called me, Kevin (my savior) messaged me that he insisted that I go to this show and put me on the guestlist + guest!!! I was soooo happy and gratefull!! Kevin is so awesome!! So when Mike the knob from rock101 called me and said sorry, no tickets for you, I said, meh, I'm on the guestlist anyways, he didn't believe me, it seemed.
So I forgot all about Mike rock101 the gooner and asked my friend Kris to join me! She was very happy and so was I !!! What luck! So on the day, we drove to Whistler and found Dusty's Creekside and got into the mega-line up to get in. I texted Kevin that we were in the line and when we got to the front, Mike loser from rock101 said um no, sit over there, your not on the guest list! So I was like Huh? I called Kevin and he pretty much had a spaz and told me that were VIP and shouldn't be in any damn line, that we were on the list. So Mike rock101 goon was giving us dirty looks, we were sitting like bad girls at the side, wondering if this even was going to happen, as Kevin and the band were at the hotel still.
Saw Ronda and Craig in the line up!! They are so great! I met them 4 years ago in the same line up!! It was our reunion!! So eventually, the guestlist made it to the hands of the goons, and we were allowed to enter with out a visual pass, which a cool guy named Mike from Live nation had. Thanks Mike from Live Nation, Peter and um, another guy who was cute with longer dark hair. They were nice. When we were in the bar, Mike gooner loser from rock101 gave us the gears and heat about where our passes were.. Look Mike, were VIP back the hell off already! He didnt until Kev arrived and I mentioned we were getting heated out, and he got our passes!! Also saw Karen in there.
They had a topless chick with painted art on her top half, all the older wives were hating her!! By the end of the night though, they were drunk enough to tolerate her! Ok, getting ahead of myself here!! So 15 min before the band was to come on, I took my usual spot, in front of Dave, with Kris at my side with camera. The stage was almost nonexistent and if I wanted to, I could have touched Dave and Neil I was that close! It was extremely HOT in there, and the band came on and rocked our world! They were as sweaty as us in minutes, and they played a good solid set, Neil seemed a little tired and not as rocking as I would have liked. Brad was smiling away, Dave was shreading pretty good! Other than the heat, the sound was so so, maybe because we were so close, we couldn't get the full benefit of all the speakers, but we rocked HARD!
This was a budget trip for me so I didnt really drink, another sober show, which seems better for me with the Graves Disease. I couldnt rock to my full potential due to the Graves, and had to break at least 3 times to catch my breath! Kinda like an asthma attack in a way, but otherwise, everyone was hammered and having a great time! After the show, they gave us a mini harddrive thingie with past studio101 songs on it, I hope it will enable us to get a recording of that night!! Kris drove us home, I wasn't able - thanks Kris, so our budget 54-40 trip was over!! Thanks Kevin, your so amazing to me, and all the crew was, Brian, live nation, Bro-Jake and Marty thanks everyone for this night!! Closes stage ever award goes to Dusty's creekside Whistler show!!!! Hello my peeps!! Here's your update/review on the Calgary Deerfoot Casino show AND the Cloverdale Rodeo Kick-off party!! Starting with Calgary, my friend Karen graciously flew us out to Calgary to see 54-40 playing the Green Album set!! When we got there, our tickets stated we were in row 2! How awesome, but soon the awesomeness faded a bit when we noticed that instead of honoring the ticketmaster assigned seating, they were handing out wristbands with alternative seat numbers!! What the hell right? So we ended up being fridge row 16 or something retarded!! So we decided F*ck this, and stood near the stage by our fave merch gal, Mya!! When the show started, a few peeps went up to the stage, but pretty much people didn't know what the hell was going on (Green Album) but I was singing every word at the top of my lungs!! I'm unsure when I moved up to the stage, but I think it was near the end of the Green Album set, when that set was over, there was no break, and they moved right into their "hits" set and lots of peeps then moved up to the stage. Then people were very happy, the crowd was slightly older than I would have expected, not allot of younger fans, of course it was 19+ but still!! Mostly peeps in there 40's-60's but who cares, they were great in the second half! Karen said after the show in the washroom, the women were raving about the show, saying it was awesome, so NICE!! Was great to see Doug S, Kevin, Mya, Boink aka Mr. Grumpy and Brian , poor Mya and Kev had a long long drive back to the coast the next day and couldn't party with us after! We hung out with Doug and went to a late lunch, and also had a cupcake from the cupcake store! Yes, a cupcake store!! Can you believe it!!! wickedness! So thanks Karen, Doug S, 54-40 and crew for a fab time out in Cowtown!! The sound was fab (of course) and I was sober, which is a good thing!! I don't remember much from my 1st concert at Deerfoot (hammered) and wanted to make sure that didn't happen again!!! All in all, very fun time!!
Now on to Cloverdale rodeo show!!
The venue was a mega huge barn called the Longhorn Saloon, the rest of the rodeo wasn't open yet, this was the kick-off to it. I power drank vodka-7 on the walk to the show - I live like 2 blocks from this venue) and I brought my friend Tammy to the show. I took up my regular spot a half hour before the show, said hi to Kevin and Brian, Boink was looking disturbed so didn't bother him. Saw my X partner in crime and had to laugh... Attention whore lolz Anyways I send her love, So Tammy brought a camera and I HAD to video something, I have been dying to video and share the 54-40 love with everyone!! So there were lots of people, not a sell out I don't think, but that venue is HUGE!! They played all the awesome songs, I didn't see Karen or Michelle until the end few songs. The lighting was AMAZING, best ever, I wonder if they used that Jeff guy from Ontario for this show, my only problem with the lighting was when the center 3 lights came on it blinded the crap outta us, and blinded the camera so I couldn't film. I actually had to shield my eyes from the light it was that bright! I kinda wasn't feelin that great cause of my medical issues, but I rocked hard and at the end, low and behold, it was Michelle who jumped up on the stage and started dancing!!! LOLZ I tryed to get video of her but it was to quick, she got a good 30 seconds in before the bouncers were like "get over here" off the stage! So we were all laughing and having fun, great show, top 5 for me for sure! So now my phone is ringing so I must end this!! I love 54-40 so much, great shows, I have Whistler coming up (THANKS KEVIN!!!) and Victoria !! Can't wait! BYE!!!

Well well well!! Update time on the Nanaimo and Campbell River shows!! I am such a slacker I know!! I have been unwell though, got some stupid disease called Graves disease... Kinda makes me unable to rock at my full potential at the concerts, but never fear, I will get this under control with meds and then I can bounce and sing and rock the whole show again, just like the last number of years!! But enough about me, let talk about the Nanaimo show!! It was at the Port Theatre and if you have read my previous blogs about the Port, you would know it is not my fave venue, due to the fact that security will NOT let you dance!!! They are real dicks about it too, claiming fire hazard bs. Well this show, we got there, and then all of a sudden the show started, and we ran to get in , and they wouldn't let us in til the song was over!! So we ( Karen and I ) missed Baby Ran and then we ran in there to get our seats. Our seats were 2nd row and to the left ( Dave Genn side) but there were people in our seats so Karen just plops down front row center in the empty seats front row!! I'm like YEAH!! So we ended up seeing the whole show front row center, pretty much with Dave and Neil on our laps!! LOL sooooo sexy lemme tell you! I was just smiling and singing and LOVING the Green Album!! No one came to take their front row seats so we had it MADE!!!! No fighting with security this year, just perfect 54-40 with perfect seats!! Sigh, I'm smiling so big right now, it was way fun times!! The Green Album was such a treat and I think my new fave song is Holy Cow!! We partied that night pretty hard in some Naniamo bar afterwards until really late!! I was sooo happy that it was a double shot show weekend and totally looked forward to Campbell River! We headed out in the morning, Karen is a cyclist so she cycled to Qualicum Beach and I drove her truck. Then we drove to Campbell River, nice little town! We stayed at the hotel that the band was staying in (FLUKE!) so saw them a bunch of times, talked with Allen Moy - their manager, he is so nice!! Anyways, the show that night we had corner seats 2nd row, it looked like it was sold out, the place was PACKED!! They started to play the Green Album and I moved to the side front row because no one was sitting there so I started dancing on the side.. As soon as the Green Album was done, and they started the "regular set", people started crashing the front of the stage and security LET THEM!! It was like a mini commodore show! Everyone smiling, laughing, singing and dancing! This was the BEST show!!! Everyone so friendly and receptive to the band!! The vibe was wonderful in this theatre and I scooted right up to front of the stage with everyone, kinda hiding behind a speaker so not to disturb anyones view! We danced and rocked and had a blast!! Such a great show, a 10 for sure!! Afterwards we went to Boston Pizza and it was really yummy! We were sad to go the next day, but of course, life gets in the way and we both had to get back! I'd like to say thanks to Kevin, Boinky, Allen Moy, the Band, the new Lighting guy, everything was amazing and I loved every second! Thank you thank you thank you for being a light in my life!!! Both nights 54-40 had a autograph session and it was awesome, I got my Green Album signed!!!!! Also saw James there and another dude who came up to me and seemed to know me! He took pics of me and I have yet to see them so if you see this dude, e-mail me!!!! Calgary show is next weekend, will be flying out late Friday!! Get to hang with Doug S so this should be a blast!! What an awesome day it is outside, spring has sprung here in beautiful B.C!! Next weekend will be SOOO exciting because it is the 54-40 Island tour of the Green Album!!! I havn't yet had the opportunity to see a Green Album tour yet so pretty much, I'm peeing my pants to see it... Ok kinda gross, but seriously, this is amazing!!! So Karen and I will be off roadtrippin to Nanaimo and Campbell River, which the later of the 2 I have never visited. I hear its particularly beautiful on that part of the island so totally looking forward to this!! Wicked nice that the Whistler show and these island shows are less than 1 month apart and the next show again, less than a month to wait for Calgary (May 15)- which I'm 90% sure I'm attending!!! Then the Cloverdale Rodeo (May 20) !! Be sure to order your tix from ticketbastard for $30 ($25 plus tax duh) I plan to have the best time at that show!! Since it is also right across the street from my house, I may have to consider an after party!!! So can't wait for the island show, will have all the deets for you after then!!!

Ok wow! I just got back from the Whistler show and holy cow! Tons of people showed up! I was front row center with my friend Marnee, (thank you girl!) and went up there and partied with Karen!! Whistler is so beautiful, if you get a chance, head up for a visit, prices can be reasonable, just look around (expedia etc) We had a room right next to village square, over looking the "stroll" Do try the mongolie grill mmmm YUM!! But ANYWAYS, the show started at 5pm, I insisted on being there early to secure the usual front row position, and lucky I did!! Just before the show, one of the roadies came up to me and gave me an autographed drum cover!!! I KNOW!! I don't recall this dudes name, but Kevin was so in on it, thank you SOOOO much Kevin, 54-40, and this dude, you guys made my freekin month!! The show was wicked as usual, I was teaching some 9 yr old girls how to rock that were next to me. I was on the big screen WAY to many times, but thats ok! Genn/Taggart household's going to get quite a bit louder in August!! It was the old setlist, I am SO EXCITED about the Green Album tour!! Lucky Ontarioians get to see it first (So jealous) then I will get to in April for the Island road trip!!!! YAY !!! So of course, it was such an awesome show, 320 km drive roundtrip, whatevs so worth it!!! Love you guys, hope you enjoyed the Olympics!!! See you at a 54-40 show soon!!

On cloud 9 !!! Yes, the 54-40 Olympic show was AMAZING crazy fun! Huge thanks to Kris for saving me the best seat in the house!! FRONT ROW CENTER!! Ohh yeaaaaa babyy! And to Karen and her son Andy for picking me up and thanks to the hookers on King George and 78th for not stealing my car! (or using it as a hotel) SO got to the venue, being Olympics there were TONS of cops and security, we were carrying Big Gulp cups full of Vodka and 7 (LOLZ) Went through security (no line-up) they looked through my purse, but no pat down and no making me throw out my drink!!! So were like !GREAT! as we had already we pounded half of our drinks back before gettin in " just in case ". We were feeling no pain right from the start! We walked around a bit, the USA vs Canada hockey game was just starting, so we wandered around then found the "Surrey House" which was the venue/beer gardens (AGAIN SWEET!) We watched Canada lose to the USA (while drinking wine coolers and beers AND vodka) but that was ok because WHO CARES 54-40 is coming on soon!! Kris saved me a spot while I hit the can, I owe her big time! Then The Odds came on and they were REALLY REALLY fun and hyper, great band too check them out ASAP. They Rocked us to a frenzy (hetero-sexual man) and then 54-40 came on!!!
54-40 started playing and you could hear that Dave's guitar was shrill and too loud and Neil's mic wasn't loud enough, but after 2 songs Boink (sound guy) had the sound all figured out and it sounded wonderful!! It was a large tent filled with 2500 people! Yes a MASSIVE tent, and when they got it all adjusted it was CRANKED loud and the guys were in a good mood! Neil got everyone to chant GO CANADA GO while they were playing Nice to love you and it sounded really good! Fit right in totally, good one Neil!! It was the same setlist as usual so far, all the hits and Walkin down the line and The Chant thrown in. I can't wait til they play the whole Green Album at the next shows! SPECTACULAR!! So hmm this is getting long, but it was a great time, top 3 for sure of all the 54-40 show's I've been too!! My only suggestion is bounce around more and smile Dave!! The Odds were so energetic, it really got the crowd going!! Come on 54-40!! Youthful Vigor baby!! Fake it til ya make it boys!! I just love that Band!!! 54-40, mud racing and poker, my 3 fave things!!

ok, Im freaken out, only 3 days until the 54-40 Olympic show!!! Soooooo excited can't wait to see them play! The Olympics has been much more exciting that I had thought, so Im ready to party hard, even though it's held on a Sunday night!! I wish I had a video camera to record it for you guys, but I fried the mic out of the loaner one so its done :( The video camera I want to get that will be amazing quality is like $2500 so that wont be happening for a while, unless I win the 42 million tomorrow then HELL YEA!! I played facebook poker and got a royal flush tonight, so you never know!! Anyways I am SOOO pumped and excited to be able to go to the show!!! Hope your there too!! ROCK on 54-40 fan!!! Oh ya, My green album I bought off e-bay came today!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! Thanks Terry Saunders of Saint John NB who ever you are!!!

Wow, 2010 already!! Less than a month til the Olympic games and 1 month and 3 days til the next local 54-40 show!!! Yay yay yay! I heard Brad and Matt in an interview - (in fact the one on our opening page) saying that this year is full of surprises for the 54-40 fan and I am very excited to see what they mean! I will be going on the Island road trip as well, Nanaimo and Campbell River ( if all goes well ) and that is just shortly after my birthday! So another kinda birthday road trip this year, should be totally awesome!! I've been grooven on the song "Greatest Mistake" just click on that to hear the song and see the lyrics. I dunno, just love it!! Will be changing the site around soon, I'm going to make a Phil page, just because, so send me your Phil pics!! 54-40 is RECORDING there new album according to rumors and facebook status's so YAY woo hoo and should be wicked!! I'm sure it will be the opposite of Northern Soul *crosses fingers Just I mean more radio friendly and more positive because N.Soul is pretty dark and we need some "pick me up" 54-40 songs!!! Anyhoo, things are cool over here, all moved in the new pad back in Cloverdale, working away n such! I miss Rita, she was a huge superfan and she passed away :( Love you girl !! Before she passed, she sent me 54-40's very first album on vinyl. Unbelievable. 1981 - Things Are Still Coming Ashore. She was amazing and I miss her dearly.. RIP Rita

As I write this I'm listening to the Moonbeach video off of the 5440.com website, the ones Tractorgrease recorded. Awesome is all I can say about that!! Since my iPod has been stolen, it's been hard times trying to listen to the guys during the day.. Altho I do hear them played on the radio, it's not nearly enough to satisfy my 54-40 urges, so in the evening I hit the comp and listen to this site, the official site, and sometimes live ones from Youtube. I can't get enough! Anyways enough about me and more about YOU!! The fans, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Merry Yule, whatever you celebrate at this time of year, I wish you all the best and send you lots of love, light and prosperity!! 2010 will be awesome i just know it! Sorry I'm a bad blogger, I may just go back to the once a week page like I used to do, could be a New Years Resolution! Back to spread some 54-40 love!! Really I love this band and I have been very lonely driving in my Freightliner without my iPod loaded with 54-40 tracks. Someone stole my iPod Touch so I have sadly been lacking in 54-40 love but I did find out how to load youtube on my cell phone and listen to the videos (thanks Tim5440!) so that calmed my often crazy panic fits of 54-40 withdrawl! The next show is in Calgary for the Grey Cup, I was offered to go, but I have a work Christmas party (grrr) I skipped last year so I have to go this year.... Oh well, will be fun and all of you guys can tell me all about it!! I hope they have a show before Febuary in B.C, I am hoping to get to the December 5th show of The Blue Violets at the Biltmore, hopefully I can get a media pass tattoo'd on my face before the gig lol. So life has been very busy, I am moving back to where I belong (Cloverdale) work is slowing down which sucks stupid economy, and Christmas is fast approaching! I did however recieve a copy of a rare vintage vinyl Mo-Da-Mu's "Things are still coming ashore" thank you SO MUCH Rita!! How very exciting, and I did buy the 54-40 songbook which im afraid to even touch its so rare!!! Mint too!! So come on 54-40, do another show!! So Today is the day after the duel Commodore shows. These shows were bittersweet for me, as I could not take videos at this concert due to ( in my opinion ) Live Nation's complete and utter take-over of the live music industry. Ever year I tape some songs for you THE FANS to view, some good quality front row footage that " puts you there" with us front row. I love to be able to share 54-40 with the world and because of Live Nation I was refused that right. I guess now you must sign some Live Nation form and get a media pass blah blah blah. It was sad to look around and see dozens of people videotaping with there camera's, and I was unable to do so as my camera is a wee bit bigger, and it's just a handycam! ANYWAYS so I was pist, and security was all over me, So I won't lie, Friday's show was a bummer for me. There was something wrong with the sound, too much bass and a blown out speaker it seemed. The band was good, but it was Saturday's show that really rocked! The fixed the sound, it was clearer and less bass, the band was in a great mood and they smiled and shreaded like crazy!! The Blue Violets were amazing and boy have they ever improved since last year!! They are way more polished, sound great and I swear they need to release "Fire" as a single already!! That's a hit song right there! At the last 2 songs of the show I said F**k it and wandered to the center of the crowd and taped. Not sure how they turned out yet, but I will post them on the video side of this site when I get them uploaded! So all in all, a good weekend, some disappointments, I think I require a 54-40 media pass tattooed on me immediately. OK Also was great to see the fans that came out! Wow, September already how freakish!! Although what a beautiful summer we had and of course being at the summer 54-40 shows were great! Congratulations to Matt Johnson, he married his sweetheart Crystal in August and we wish them all the best!! Ahhh summer love is in the air, next shows I'm looking forward too are the duel Commodore shows!! I noticed they are also playing a Niagara Falls show in September, NICE wish I could be there for that!! So I will get my tickets next payday (cause im BROKE!) and rent a room at the Georgian Court, be sure to stay there if you can, great hotel! So I got my ipod back so I can continue to listen to 54-40 all day long while I drive my Freightliner - yes I am a truck driver! This week my fave songs are Roll up Rule, Miss you and Baby have some Faith. I hope somehow to get backstage for at least one of the Comomdore shows, but don't you worry, I will have the video camera on hand to tape the SWEETNESS of it all!!! It's because I love you guys!! Anyhow, I'm going to change up the videos so have a great week!!!

Can I just mention that 54-40 playing before the HSBC Fireworks was TOTALLY AWESOME! It was on top of a roof (the bathhouse) which you had to have VIP tix to access. Thank goodness I bought a ticket because I was right next to the band on this roof! There hardly was anyone there at that time, only a handful of totally lucky fans on the roof area, and we ROCKED!! It was mostly acoustic and it was great to be outside, in front of the ocean, and on the beach there were TONS of people! 54-40 didn't disappoint of course, they were in a great mood and played 10 songs, no new stuff though. This concert was presented by shorefm 104.1 , a new station which is really great! All cool bands but non-hits are played! I've heard Blue Sky, Pay for Living, Where did the money go in the last week of on and off listening! Check em out online too! Anyways it was great to see MsRuby, Justin, Karen, Joleen and Michelle there just to name a few Super-fans! ROCK ON 54-40 fans!!

Hi everybody! They guys just finished playing 2 shows, Peacefest and Hoodstock now for a weeks's break before the start of the eastern tour, including Buffalo, and then back to B.C for the HSBC fireworks show! Then they head BACK to Ontario to finish the tour! They have Boink on board for this tour so the sound will be perfect ( you lucky fans you!) and Tim5440 will also be with them so make sure you say HI to these guys, they are awesome! Glad to see the Ontario fans will get a chance to see them again, and happy that my friend Jenn will get to see them in Buffalo! YAY!! So many american fans that love them too!! Have fun boys, be safe and see you back in B.C for the HSBC show July 29th!!

Ok let me just say WOW! Vernon was un real so many people there!! Funtastic Festival was a blast, there must have been 16,000 people par-taking! It also had a beer garden as well so alot of young people getting hammered! I took loads of vids and the best part was Ms.Ruby showed up!! So we went front row and rocked! So awesome to see the guys after a couple months with no 54-40! The guys rocked like crazy, the sound was so so, heard alot of complaints about it but oh well, at least we were there having fun seeing our band! We wish you could have been there with us as well!! Make sure you see 54-40 live as soon as possible !! SO WORTH IT!! Don't forget Canada Day in Cloverdale July 1st if your in the area, GO !!

Ok Im back and feeling alot better! Thanks for all the support everyone! Next show for me is VERNON!! That is only 6 days away YAY! I heard that the Mississauga was wet and muddy, but rocked! I hope dave is ok after slipping on the stage! E-mail me with comments and pics from that show and I'll post them! I plan to video the Vernon show, and the Canada Day show so stay tuned for more awesome footage! I wasn't able to get to The Blue Violets show last Saturday, had a wedding to go to, but when t hey come back- I'm all over it! It's been awhile, I lost a close friend 10 days ago and havn't been myself! But here I am, still listening to 54-40, waiting patiently for the next show, which looks like Canada Day in Cloverdale. I totally need a show but Im also glad 54-40 is heading out East, so the Eastern fans can see them! And of course, Tim5440 will be there, be sure to say hi to Tim when you see him at the Ontario shows!!! Anyways, will be more interesting next time!!

Just been listening to some 54-40 as usual, it is a daily occurrence in my life, gosh I love them so much!! Northern Soul is so full of meaning if you sit down and really listen to it! The world has changed so much, the greed is disgusting in this world! Really there should be no poverty, no hate and no war, but these are the things that make money! Pain makes so much money and it sickens me. I've decided to enter the heath care field as my experience within hospitals these days made me acutely aware that 80% of health care workers don't really care about the patients! Where has REAL human to human contact gone? People are too busy worrying about what to make for dinner, what to wear to the bar on the weekend, what they have to pick up from the store and other " small stuff " that they just do their jobs on the surface, without really putting their REAL selves into the job! If your talking to someone and your thinking of "other things" while they talk, you are not REALLY there. Your a shell, not really caring about what the other person is saying. Your not CONNECTING with them, so please try to be aware and really CONNECT with people when you interact with them!! It could change the world!! Just my opinion and my daily rant! Thanks for reading and turn on some 54-40 today!! It just makes you feel better about life!! DONT BE A SHELL!

Took alot of work to delete the almost 1000 files that were on the site before, most of which were CRAP, so only the BEST 54-40 photo's are allowed on MY site! So WOW WOW WOWWW!! The Cambie street show was so fun!! The sun was out, and a huge amount of people showed up for the show!! The scenery was beautiful I must admit, even thou I don't care too much for downtown, it was gorgeous with the blue sky and mountains in the background! The stage was tucked in a street off of Cambie (6th) I was late so I could only get 2nd or 3rd row from the front grrr (slaps Darrin) but I managed to pull off some sweet vids, as well as a few others who were kind enough to email me and share!! Just search on YouTube for 54-40, then most recent (date added) and check them out!! Check out Ocean Pearl by Blank artist - brilliant job he has done with his vid!! Anyway's, it was warm,saw Dave bouncing little Becket around to the pre-show music, with Tamara smiling on, such a loving little family they are!! Saw Kandle there as well, hope she's feeling better as she was ill all week! The show was great, until the generator ran out of gas - shutting down ALL power, took about 20 min. for someone to troubleshoot that one (sheesh) I hope they don't use that rental company again!! Then they came back and finished the last 3 songs and it was awesome! They had an autograph session inthe Bestbuy and the line-up was HUGE so I figured, hey,I'm starving, I'll just go and eat and come back to say Hi to everyone, but when I came back, everyone was GONE! Gone to Whistler I'd imagine for the next days show, so that kinda sucked, but hey, you snooze you lose! So it was a great time, saw all sorts of fans, and met some new fans as well! Adam PW Smith was there taking photos so looking forward to seeing those FAB shots of his!! check his site www.adampwsmith.com he is AMAZING! So I missed going to Whistler, I really wish I could have gone BUT ..... I only make so much money! Just waiting on hitting the Lotto and boy o boy, I'll follow them around like a dirty shirt!!! So now I'm just waiting for Saturdays free show to arrive, just found out about a Vernon show in June! Hope there isn't a Mud Race on that weekend!! (I'm a motor sports announcer in the summer) also that weekend is the Genpo Roshi "Big Mind" seminar which I'd LOVE to go to but it's (eek) $695 US which is like whoa! Decisions, decisions! I cannot go to the Whistler show due to lack of funds but if your going PLEASE PLEASE oh I beg of you to take pics and post them to flickr or send them to me to post! I will be there in spirit anyway's, should be a great time, I hear there's 2 performances, one during the day, and one at night at some venue, so I urge you to go and have some fun!!! Well, the 54-40 after-party turned out to be a bunch of 20 year olds in a bar with the band nowhere to be seen! So I cruised down the street to the only pizza joint in town that was open, walked back and pigged out on a large Hawaiian at the hotel! No delivery, what the hell! Did manage to suck back 2 quick drinks across the street from the hotel first, (ok 2 got me half cut) where Tom Hooper and a mysterious girlfriend ? were sipping martini's until that "Modern Cafe" also closed! I would just like to comment how CLEAN and SAFE Nanaimo streets were! They had security guards (tons of them) patrolling on foot and I must say, I have never felt safer walking alone at 1am in any town! I mentioned that to one of the guards and he glowed! Good Job Nanaimo! Other than that, the ferry back was un-eventful, now I'm waiting for that April 25th show in Vancouver - Cambie street Bestbuy re-opening , to rock again with the guys! Also everyone if you can get to it , Genpo Roshi will be in Vancouver doing his "Big Mind" seminar at the end of June, Neil attended one of these weekends a few years ago - you can see all that vid on youtube also. Get enlightened - if you have the almost $700 US to take the course!! Worth it I'm sure!! They just played "Since When" on Jackfm here in Vancouver so I was just dancing all over my kitchen with my kid looking at me like I'm mental! Thanks to the people who came up to me at the Island shows and said " Hey, I know you from facebook! Happy B-day!" It was appreciated!! Thanks!

Just got in from the Nanaimo show!! Oh darn, I havn't mentioned the Victoria show yet!! Victoria was AMAZINGLY sweet, the "Mac" theatre is really great, the security was very nice, they let us dance, unlike Nanaimo's Port Theatre which I now officially boycott :( The band was so happy in Victoria, playing to a "hometown" crowd! You could really tell they were in a fab mood, all their families were there, kids were sidestage, I commented to Geanine ( Kandle and Coral's Mom ) on what talented daughters she has! She seemed happy to hear it! Speaking of The Blue Violets, they have improved their gig so much! They rocked both Vic and Nanaimo heavily, showing alot more comfidence and maturity! 54-40 in Nanaimo the performance was really good, as I said the Port Theatre can go BLOW and that's all I will say about that venue. The sound was great tho, with Boink at the helm on the sound board (fab as usual) the acoustics were way better than in Victoria. Tom Hooper was his happy self, smiling away, so nice to see him with the boys! Well, I'm off the the 54-40 after party, will blog more later, let's hope the guys are there!!

WOW o WOW the Mission show was great last night! All sorts of people, all ages, all having a great time, singing along, it was beautiful! The boys went back to the Northern Soul setlist, doing 3 acoustic songs and the Johnny Cash song, as well as a bunch of new songs (which I LOVED!) most people didn't know the new stuff, but as soon as the hits came on , people were rocking out! It was mostly a sit down show (ARG) but some brave peeps did stand and dance, and near the end, most were standing, dancing and singing! The guys looked great, and they had an autograph session which MANY people took advantage of (including me!) All in all, a great show, I'm off to the ferry to see the next show tonight in Victoria, and the bonus is - It's my birthday! Happy Birthday to meeee! What a great B-day present, to be able to see three 54-40 shows in a row!! I'm so excited, I've never really seen Victoria before, so I shall be a tourist as well!! Anyhow, bring the laptop to blog and I will be shooting more video so stay tuned! WOO HOO!!

Do check out the vids and add me on Facebook, lots more vids on there too! Life is catching up to me, so haven't been able to work on this site much (sorry) , I will get on the program ASAP and spend a bunch of hours fixing up this site for you! I'm no web designer and you would be AMAZED at how long it takes to fix websites!! So I'm SO excited to tell you about the Commodore show!! It was AMAZING! 54-40 and "Friends" The friends were peeps like Jets Overhead, Blue Violets, Vince Vaccaro, George Canyon, Grapes of Wrath, Sam Roberts, Blue Rodeo, Great Big Sea!! When you thought the show was already fantastic, they brought out another Canadian Star!! AND they played Assoholic which is UNREAL!!! I have mega-footage from front row that I am working on posting here and on YouTube asap, just not a computer expert and the files are a weird type (.VOB) so Please be patient!!! Like I said, the show was spectacular and once in a lifetime so If you were there - you witnessed 54-40 HISTORY!! and if you were not, don't worry, my "from front row" videos will make you feel like you were there with us!!! LUV YOU ALL!!!!

Wow, only 1 sleep until the 54-40 and Friends show and I am SO ready for it!! I have arranged to borrow a better video camera and hopefully I will be allowed to tape some awesome vids for you to see with this new camera!!! I am making a special page on this site for High quality live videos because YouTube just kills the video now they got rid of the High-quality option :( I can't explain how excited I am, it's been 5 months since the last show and I feel like a junkie getting my next fix! SO HAPPY ! I wonder what they will play! And who their special guest are, will they all sing songs together?!?
